Two-vehicle crash on Highway 130 sends two to hospital

CUMBERLAND CO., Ill. - A two vehicle crash on Illinois Route 130 in Cumberland County sent two Casey residents to the hospital earlier today.

The collision occurred four miles north of Greenup on 130 at County Road 950N this afternoon (Thursday, July 18) at 2:41 p.m.

Illinois State Police in District 12 report the preliminary investigative details, which indicate that a red 2003 Chevy pickup being driven by Heather L. Boo, 39, of Casey, was traveling south on 130. With Boo was Ricky A. Applegate, 60, also of Casey.

A white 2012 GMC pickup being driven by David A. Easton, 40 of Charleston, was traveling in front of Boo's vehicle.

Easton slowed down to pass an IDOT truck, and Boo failed ot reduce speed, striking Easton's truck in the rear.

Both Boo and Applegate were transported to Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center via Greenup Ambulance; Boo was cited for Driving Too Fast for Conditions and Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid an Accident.
