Violence and FTA feature prominently in Mt. Carmel mid-month report

MT. CARMEL, Ill. - Wabash County takes its Failure to Appears seriously, as this report from Mt. Carmel City Police indicates...and then there are the consistent violence and trespassing reports as well.

Here's the mid-month MCPD blotter covering July 12-16, 2019.

On July 12, Mt. Carmel Police arrested April N. Stewart, 37 of Keenes (in Wayne County), for Driving While License Suspended and Operating an Uninsured Vehicle following a traffic stop in the 900 block of North Market Street. Stewart was taken into custody and transported to the Wabash County Jail where she was charged and held pending the posting of bond.

On July 13, Mt. Carmel Police arrested Brandy L. Bruce, 29 of Evansville, Ind., on a Wabash County Failure to Appear Warrant. Bruce was located outside of a residence on Lambert Drive, taken into custody and transported to the Wabash County Jail, where she was issued her warrant and held pending the posting of bond.

Michael Trost

Also on the 13th, Mt. Carmel Police arrested Michael L. Trost, 45 of Mt. Carmel, for Criminal Trespass to State Supported Land following a complaint to Mt. Carmel Meadows Apartments at 1230 North Walnut Street.  Trost is barred from the property which is funded in part by state and federal funds. Trost was located inside one of the apartments and placed under arrest; he was transported to the Wabash County Jail wherehe was charged and held pending the posting of bond.

And lastly on the 13th, Mt. Carmel Police arrested Nicholas T.E. Lamar, 28 of Mt. Carmel, for Assault following a complaint to an address in the 400 block of Ash Street. While investigating the complaint, officers found evidence to indicate an assault had been committed by Lamar against another resident in the home. Lamar was transported to the Wabash County Jail where he was charged and held pending the posting of bond.

On the 14th, Mt. Carmel Police arrested Michael J. McKeon, 31 of Mt. Carmel, on a Wabash County Failure to Appear Warrant. McKeon was observed walking in the area of Second and Cherry streets where he was then taken into custody. McKeon was transported to the Wabash County Jail where he was issued the warrant and held pending the posting of bond.

Hannah Rutledge

On July 15, Mt. Carmel Police arrested Hannah E. Rutledge, 19 of Mt. Carmel, on a Wabash County Failure to Appear Warrant. Rutledge was found to be a passenger in a vehicle stop near the 800 block of Oak Street. Rutledge was taken into custody and transported to the Wabash County Jail where she was issued the warrant and held pending the posting of bond.

On July 16, Mt. Carmel Police arrested Lisa C. Shearer, 59 of Mt. Carmel, for Theft following a complaint from her employer. Police were called to the Mt. Carmel McDonald's where they took a complaint about Shearer stealing nearly $40 in food when leaving her shift for the day. Shearer was located and placed under arrest. Shearer was taken to the Wabash County Jail where she was charged and held pending the posting of bond. 

Also on the 16th, Mt. Carmel Police arrested Wanda R. Winters, 41 of Mt. Carmel, for Driving While License Suspended, Operating a Vehicle with Suspended Registration, and Operating an Uninsured Vehicle following a traffic stop in the 100 block of East Ninth Street. Winters was also found to have an Edwards County warrant for Failure to Appear. Winters was taken to the Wabash County Jail where she was issued her charges and warrant then held pending the posting of bond.
