CARMI, Ill. - A woman was arrested Tuesday after a brief investigation turned her up as the suspect in a property damage case.

Carmi police said David Straw, 53 of a residence on the 100 block of Olive Street in Carmi, advised that a yard light on his property had been damaged at some point in time on the 16th.

After the investigation, the reporting officer arrested Emily Whetstone, 35, who lives next door to Straw, for Criminal Damage to Property. She was transported to the White County Jail, where she was able to post bond to secure her release.
