EFFINGHAM CO., Ill. - A driver from Pennsylvania lost his life this morning in a single-vehicle accident on one of Effingham County's interstates.

Illinois State Police report the accident occurred in the southbound lane of Interstate 57 at milepost 154, approximately five miles south of Effingham this morning (Monday, July 15) at 8:37 a.m.

ISP said the preliminary investigative details indicate that a white 2007 Chevrolet pickup truck being driven by Brandon J. Fanno, 26, of New Castle, Pennsylvania, traveled off the roadway to the right into the tree line, where it rolled over.

No seatbelt was worn, and the driver was ejected. There was no explanation offered as to why Fanno drove off the roadway.

No further info was made available except that Muncy's Auto apparently was involved in clearing the scene, which, according to an earlier report from ISP District 12 in Effingham, resulted in lane closures for about three hours.
