Heavy couple of weeks for Clay County Sheriff’s Department

CLAY CO., Ill. – The end of June and first week of July for Clay County Sheriff’s Department has been one of heavy activity, according to this report as supplied by Sheriff Andy Myers.

June 27, a Clay County Sheriff’s Deputy arrested James Tomasek, 69, Flora, for Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Felon. Bond set at $250,000.00 (10 percent). He is currently incarcerated in the Clay County Jail.

June 27, Clay County Sheriff’s Deputy arrested Haley D. Beard, 26. Flora, on an outstanding Clay County warrant for Failure to Appear on the original charge of Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine Precursor. Bond set at $3,000.00 (10 percent), plus $75.00 warrant fee. She posted bond and was released.

June 27, Clay County Sheriff’s Deputy arrested Tammy Staley, 35, Olney, on an outstanding Richland County warrant for Failure to Appear on the original charge of Operating Uninsured Motor Vehicle. Bond set at $3,000.00 (10 percent), plus $75.00 warrant fee. She posted bond and was released.

June 28, the Clay County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a motor vehicle accident at 4:38 p.m. at the intersection of South Main and 2nd Street, Clay City. Apparently Michael A. Marvin, 62, Chrisman, operating a 2009 Chevrolet was traveling south on South Main Street, started to turn
west onto 2nd Street and was struck by a 2016 Jeep operated by Sarah Tomes, 41, Clay City. No injuries reported.

June 29, Aleasha Moore, 39, Centralia, was arrested on an outstanding Clay County warrant for Failure to Appear on the original charge of Driving While Driver’s License Suspended. Bond set at $3,000.00 (10 percent), plus $75.00 warrant fee. She posted bond and was released.

June 30, David V. Carlen, 62, Beecher City, was arrested on an outstanding Clay County Contempt warrant. Bond set at $200.00 cash. He posted bond and was released.

July 1, Jeffrey Maxham, was arrested on an outstanding Clay County warrant for Failure to Appear on the original charge of D.U.I. Bond set at $3,000.00 (10 percent), plus $75.00 warrant fee. He appeared in Clay County court and was released.

July 1, Clay County Sheriff’s Deputy arrested Tammy Staley, 35, Clay City, for Driving While Driver’s License Suspended. She was given a Notice to Appear and released.

July 2, Clay County Sheriff’s Deputy arrested Quinton Schoreck, 31, Farina, on an outstanding warrant for Petition to Revoked Probation on the original charge of Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine. Bond set at $25,000.00 (10%). He is currently incarcerated in the Clay County Jail.

July 3, Clay County Sheriff’s Deputy cited Daniel L. Cornwell, 27, Louisville, for Louisville Ordinance Disturbing the Peace. He was given a Notice to Appear in Clay County Court.

July 3, Richard E. Fisk, 59, Iuka, was arrested on an outstanding Clay County warrant for Failure to Appear on the original charge of Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance. Bond set at $10,000.00 (10 percent), plus $75.00 warrant fee. He was released by the court.

July 3, Kristopher K. Blankenship, 39, St. Elmo, was arrested on an outstanding Clay County warrant for Failure to Appear on the original charge of Driving While Driver’s License Suspended. Bond set at $3,000.00 (10 percent), plus $75.00 warrant fee. He posted bond and was released.

July 3, Korey E. Greenwood, 44, Noble, was arrested on an outstanding Clay County warrant for Failure to Appear on 2 counts of Burglary and Theft. Bond set in the amount of $3,000.00 (10 percent), plus $75.00 warrant fee. He posted bond and was released.

July 3, Clint Mason, 41, Decatur, was arrested on an outstanding Clay County warrant for Failure to Appear on the original charge of Residential Burglary. Bond set at $4,000.00 (10 percent), plus $75.00 warrant fee. He posted bond and was released.

July 3, Clay County Sheriff’s Deputy arrested James K. Schwabe, 57, Flora, on an outstanding warrant for Escape/Failure to Return From Furlough. He appeared in Clay County and was later transferred to Illinois Department of Corrections.

July 5, Ricky L. Kimbro, 31, Flora, was arrested on an outstanding Clay County warrant for Failure to Appear on the original charge of Aggravated Driving Under the Influence. Bond set at $3,000.00 (10 percent), plus $75.00 warrant fee. He posted bond and was released.

July 6, Clay County Sheriff’s Deputy arrested Joshua R. Artis, 41, Flora, for Driving While Driver’s License Suspended. He was given a Notice to Appear and released.

July 9, Randall Stanton, 41, Christopher, was arrested on an outstanding Clay County warrant for Failure to Appear on Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance. Bond set in the amount of $50,000.00 (10 percent), plus $75.00 warrant fee. He is currently incarcerated in the Clay County Jail.
