CARMI, Ill. - There were only a couple of reports submitted by Carmi Police for the beginning of the week, as outlined here.

Carmi Police Chief Jason Carter reports that on Monday (June 10) at 8:14 p.m., a bicycle theft was reported at a popular gathering place in town, Pundrake Gas and Convenience Store on the corner of Fifth and Stewart streets.

There, Ronald Joseph Rulo, 44, of the 700 block of Foley Drive in Carmi, reported that his bike was stolen as it was parked outside the business.

No description of the bike was made available, but authorities took a theft report and are investigating.

Then yesterday morning (Tuesday, June 11) at 10:49, Carmi police made a traffic stop that ended up an arrest.

David Caleb Dismang

This occurred literally a few yards from Pundrake on Fifth Street in front of Brown's Feed Store. Stopped was David Caleb Dismang, 25 of the 1000 block of Stewart Street in town.

As it turned out, Dismang was arrested for Driving While License Suspended.. He was booked at the city/county jail and was apparently able to post bond to secure his release.
