Wayne County man sentenced in Edwards on probation violation

EDWARDS CO., Ill. - A man from Wayne County, running afoul of the law in Edwards a few years ago, has been sentenced in Edwards after messing up his probation there.

Donald G. Brinkley, 38 of Wayne County, Illinois, was sentenced Tuesday, June 11, 2019 to a total of 3 years and 6 months in the Illinois Department of Corrections followed by a term of 4 years of Mandatory Supervised Release (formerly known as “parole”) in Edwards County Case No. 2016-CF-60.

Donald G. Brinkley had previously pled guilty to the offense of Domestic Battery and was found to have violated his probation.

Edwards County State’s Attorney Eric A. St Ledger prosecuted the case on behalf of the People of the State of Illinois and public defender Brian Shinkle represented the defendant, Donald G. Brinkley.
