WHITE CO., Ill. — A Carmi man, who was wanted on an outstanding arrest warrant for violating the terms of his probation, was taken into custody by Bixby, Okla., said authorities.

According to reports, at 7 a.m. Sunday morning (June 8, 2019) White County Sheriff Doug Maier retrieved 32-year-old Adam A. Hoover from a correctional facility located in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

At the time of his arrest Hoover was already serving a probation sentence in White County of 30 months handed him January 23, 2018, after he was convicted on one count each of Theft $500-$10,000 and Forgery.

In addition to the probation, Hoover was also ordered to undergo drug treatment and mental treatment and to pay $8,838.60 in fines and fees, of which he still owes $6,733.60.

On his way back to White County, Hoover told Sheriff Maier that he was aware of the arrest warrant in White County but left anyway to visit his sick grandmother.

So much for exercising his right to remain silent.

Hoover was housed in the White County Jail on $5,000 bond.
