City of Flora Police reports activity for second week of May 2019

FLORA, Ill. – Last week’s busy Flora City Police report involves a lot of traffic incidents, most of them minor and some resulting in more coin for the county coffers.

Here’s the report, as provided by Flora Chief of Police Guye Durre.

On Monday May 6 at 9:27 pm, Flora Police issued Christopher A. McGee, 40 of Flora, citations for Operating Uninsured Vehicle and Failure To Wear Seat Belt following a traffic stop in the 200 block of E. Maple St.

On Tuesday May 7 at 12:04 pm, Flora Police investigated a traffic crash in at the intersection of US Rt. 45/50 and N. Stanford Rd. between Robert W. Work, 50 of St. Louis, Missouri, driving a 2016 Harley Davidson Motorcycle and Jessica N. Johnson, 30 of Flora. No injuries were reported and Work was issued a citation for Improper Overtaking.

On Tuesday May 7 at 9:16 pm, Flora Police issued Nicholas A. Sturm, 20 of Flora, a citation for Speeding following a traffic stop at the intersection of N. State and Mayberry.

On Wednesday May 8 at 8:13 pm, Flora Police investigated a single vehicle traffic crash in the 300 block of W. North Ave. involving Bryan C. Grenier, 34 of Waukegan, driving a 2020 International Truck. No citations were given.

On Wednesday May 8, at 8:13 pm, Flora Police issued Avery P. McKinney, 23 of Fairfield, citations for Operating Uninsured Vehicle, Failure to Wear Seat Belt, Illegal Use-Electronic Device, and Operating Vehicle-No Registration following a traffic stop at the corner of E. Washington St. and S. Locust St.

On Wednesday May 8 at 8:16 pm, Flora Police arrested Devon A. Robbins, 21 of Flora, on an outstanding Clay County Warrant. After booking procedures at the Flora Police Department, Robbins posted bond and was released with a court date.

On Thursday May 9 at 6:43 am, Flora Police issued Lisa A. Champlin, 39 of Flora, a local ordinance citation for Dog at Large following an incident in the 500 block W. Sixth St.

On Thursday May 9 at 3:23 pm, Flora Police arrested Michelle L. Viehmeyer-Windland on an outstanding Clay County Warrant. After booking procedures at the Flora Police Department, she was unable to post bond and was transported to the Clay County Sheriff’s Office.
