VANDERBURGH CO., Ind. - A man from Lawrenceville was clocked driving too fast in a construction zone by Indiana State Police earlier today, and when ISP got him stopped, they quickly figured out why.

ISP said in a press release that this morning (Sunday, April 28) at approximately 5:15 a.m., Lieutenant Brian Bailey was patrolling the construction zone on US 41 near I-69 when he stopped the driver of a 2019 Nissan for driving 83 mph in the posted 45 mph zone.

The driver was identified as Jarvis Green, 31, of Lawrenceville, Ill. Green’s three-year-old son was found unrestrained in the back seat.

Bailey also observed signs the driver may be impaired. Further investigation revealed Green was impaired and had a blood alcohol content of .10 percent.

Green was arrested and taken to the Vanderburgh County Jail where he is currently being held on bond. The child was released to a relative.
