Anhydrous tank overturned near Farina; no health threat at this time

FAYETTE CO., Ill. – Illinois State Police are on the scene of a traffic situation near the town of Farina after a vehicle incident has resulted in an overturned anhydrous tank.

ISP released this information on the situation:

A traffic crash with lane closures has occurred on Illinois 37 north of Farina as of 6 p.m. today, Wednesday, April 24.

District 12 is currently handling a traffic crash involving an overturned anhydrous ammonia trailer on 37 just north of Farina, in Fayette County.  Illinois 37 traffic is being diverted for an extended period while the scene is cleared.

There are no health threats to the public at this time.

Illinois 37 is impassible between Illinois 185 and the Altamont/Farina Blacktop.
