KNOX/VANDERBURGH COs., Ind. - When Indiana State Police make a number of impaired driver arrests, they, unlike Illinois State Police, show us the names and infractions, as well as other details of the arrests...as well they should, since it's important to know who's messing up, and how.

Here's a report from ISP regarding details from Knox and Vanderburgh counties in southwestern Indiana.

Between 9:30 last night and 4:30 this morning, Indiana State Police conducted saturation patrols throughout the Evansville District targeting dangerous and impaired drivers. Troopers issued 11 traffic tickets, 36 warnings and arrested four impaired drivers.

Troopers in Knox County concentrated their efforts in Vincennes, Decker and the roadways between both areas. All three DUI arrests in Knox County occurred in the area of Decker.

Arrested for Driving While Intoxicated in Knox County:

  • Tyler Left, 24, Vincennes, Ind.                (BAC .11 percent)
  • William Tennis, 46, Vincennes, Ind.       (BAC .13 percent)
  • Michael Swope, 50, Vincennes, Ind.       (BAC 15 percent)

Swope was stopped on US 41 near the 45 mm for driving without headlights.

Arrested for Driving While Intoxicated in Vanderburgh County:

  • Lane Ash, 22, Fort Branch, Ind.       (BAC .17 percent)

Ash was stopped on US 41 near Ruffian Way for driving 83 mph in a 60 mph zone.

Arresting Officers: Master Trooper Jim Dotson, Senior Trooper Brett Pool, Trooper Nick Hatfield and Trooper Kyle Otolski.

Troopers will continue to participate in Operation Pull Over through March 24. The Indiana State Police are committed to traffic safety and will continue to conduct saturation patrols and sobriety checkpoints to apprehend impaired drivers and to deter others from drinking and driving.
