SALINE COUNTY: Tractor driver dies of injuries from Sunday accident

Posted by on Sunday, January 6th, 2019 @ 10:06 pm.

SALINE CO., Ill. - Illinois State Police in District 19 have updated information from the earlier report about a semi-v-tractor accident on U.S. Highway 45 in Muddy.

ISP reports that Ray Bowles, 60 of Harrisburg, died of his injuries sustained in the accident. We understand that he was transported from a local hospital to a trauma center in Evansville.

Bowles was ejected from the tractor he was operating on 45 after a semi, being driven by Kevin Voelker, 56, of Omaha, struck the tractor with his semi, causing the tractor to overturn.

Voelker was cited with a traffic ticket for Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid an Accident; there is no indication at this point that Voelker has been charged with anything more substantial in the wake of Bowles' death.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the Bowles family, whom we at Disclosure know very well and have known them for many years now.

We keep in mind Revelation 21:4 - And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more; neither will mourning, nor outcry, nor pain be any more. The former things have passed away.
