HARRISBURG, Ill. - Harrisburg Police Chief David Morris has released information about the frightening situation that occurred last night at one of the city's convenience store/gas stations.

Morris said that last night (Tuesday, November 27) at approximately 9:10 p.m., Saline County Central Dispatch received a 911 call from ROC One-Stop at 303 E. Poplar Street, reporting an armed robbery.

Officers responded to the location where they secured the scene and searched for the suspect.

That suspect was reported as armed with a black semi-automatic-style handgun and was wearing a mask. He fled the scene on foot with an unknown amount of cash.

This suspect has been described as a young white male wearing a black hooded jacket, jeans, and a mask.

There's been no word on whether this description fits the suspect who is reported to have robbed another city convenience store at some point in time about a month prior to the ROC robbery. Our sources have advised that this occurred at one of the Casey's stores in Harrisburg.

Morris said that the ROC robbery investigation is still pending; Harrisburg officers were assisted on scene last night by the Saline County Sheriff's Department and Illinois State Police Crime Scene Investigators.
