‘Unidentified’ semi driver involved in hit-and-run rollover…?

CUMBERLAND CO.— Police say that a Missouri driver advised them that he was struck by a semi tractor-trailer, causing his vehicle to roll over, and then the semi driver drove away.

According to a preliminary investigation by ISP into the crash, a silver 2005 Dodge Ram pickup, driven by 65-year-old James W. Pyant, of Florissant, Mo., was traveling eastbound on Interstate 70, near milepost 126.

Pyant told authorities that an unidentified truck-tractor semi-trailer entered the right lane that he was driving in and struck his pickup, causing it to roll over.

Pyant told investigators that the semi never stopped, continued on its way and left the scene of the accident.

Both Pyant and a passenger in his pickup, identified as Jonathan R. Cook, 36, of Hazelwood, Mo., were transported from the scene by ambulance to the Terra Haute (Ind.) Regional Hospital.

We continue to see people who probably aren't American-born citizens being hired by trucking companies, as long-time, legal truckers don't like working with the new, ridiculous regulations and foreigners, looking for a reason to stay in the country, will take the jobs...which pay well, but...they can't drive. Yet they're being slammed into these big rigs and are traversing our roads, and are wreaking havoc as a result. We were advised of this well over a year ago by a guy who works on semis. He was dead serious...and we are, too. Watch out for yourselves on the road. This kind of activity will lead to people calling for the "self-driving" trucks...and then we'll all REALLY be in trouble.
