CARMI, Ill. - Carmi police report a couple of incidents occurring Monday of this week, one of them involving  a young guy formerly of Enfield who's alleged to have punched his teen girlfriend.

Carmi City Police were called to a location on the 100 block of Neely Circle in town at 12:19 p.m. yesterday (Monday, August 13), where they found Jordan M. Dotson, 21, apparently formerly of Enfield but currently reporting an address on the 300 block of Plum Street in Carmi....and his 16-year-old unnamed girlfriend.

It was reported to police that Dotson had punched the girl in the left side of her head during an argument in his car.

Dotson was taken into custody on an arresting charge of Domestic Battery, and he remained behind bars at the White County Jail as of this evening.

Also occurring Monday was a report of a theft from a vehicle, this happening at about 6 p.m.

Sheila L. Lawler, 68, of Carmi, reports that there was a box of children's clothing and school supplies in her vehicle; she last saw the box there at 8 p.m. Sunday night, but on Monday she noticed they were missing, so she contacted city police to make a report.
