HAMILTON CO., Ill. - Hamilton County State's Attorney Justin Hood has issued information about four individuals sentenced in his county this week, including a young McLeansboro man who has entered a plea in his sex offense case.

That'd be Matthew French, 29, who plead guilty to in two separate cases to serve a total of 29 years in Illinois Department of Corrections and once he is released serve 2 years of M.S.R. (parole). Hood said French plead to a Class 1 felony Child Pornography count, for which he received 15 years; and a Class 2 felony Aggravated Criminal Sexual Abuse count, for which he received 14 years to run concurrent with each count but consecutive to the second case. French plead to two counts of Class 2 felony Aggravated Criminal Sexual Abuse and will serve a 14-year sentence on each count.

Hood said that in the plea, French admitted to having sex with a 14-year-old juvenile female at a local city park and had photographs of her - topless - on his phone after McLeansboro City Police did a search warrant. The photographs from the phone lead to charges in the second case where the defendant had sexually abused a 13-year-old.
