WHITE CO., Ill. - While court officials were waiting on an afternoon session that involved a hearing for alleged escapee Zac Shock, two individuals were sentenced this morning in White County.

White County prosecutor Denton Aud said the first to be sentenced this morning was Alyssa Slankard, 35 of Carmi.

Alyssa Slankard

Slankard agreed to a plea in her Class 2 felony Burglary case, for which she received five years in IDOC, to be followed by two years of parole.

She was also ordered to pay court costs and restitution, amounting to $560, none of which has been paid.

Then came Brandon Keown, 28, also of Carmi.

Brandon Keown

This Keown (one of two recently involved in badness in White County) entered a plea to a Class 2 felony Unlawful Use of Property and Class 3 felony Possession of Ammunition by a Felon. Keown got 4 years IDOC, with a two-year term of parole on the Class 2, and a 1-year term of parole on the Class 3. Keown was also ordered to pay court costs in a total amount of $417, none of which has been paid.

A set of charges Keown caught just a few weeks ago in June - Class 4 felony Obstruction of Justice by Destroying Evidence, and Class A misdemeanor Obstructing Identification - were dismissed in exchange for the plea.

When we learn about how the Shock hearing went, we'll post. Be watching...and be sure your subs or online memberships are up to date, as we've been collecting AMAZING information about the escapees all week and will be presenting the whole thing, start to finish (including material mainstream media WON'T print), in the next print edition, on stands in a week. Don't miss it.
