CARMI, Ill. - Cleaning up the warrant service list appeared to have been tops on the agenda for City of Carmi police this weekend, whether it was intentional or not.

Richard GA Cullison

The first took place on Friday, June 8, when at 12:35 p.m., authorities in Carmi were notified by the state's attorney's office that one Richard GA Cullison, 26, of Crossville, was working community service on that day and Cullison was wanted on a warrant for Criminal Damage to property.

A responding officer located Cullison on Main Street in Carmi at Walnut Street and placed him under arrest.

Bond was set at $150.

Amber Newman

At 4:44 p.m. Friday, one Amber Nichole Newman, 34, was located at her residence on the 400 block of Fourth Street. She was being sought by police because there was a White County warrant for Failure to Appear on Driving While License Suspended.

Newman was taken into custody without incident at that address and transported to the White County Jail in Carmi, where she was later able to post $500 cash bond.

Bryan Stacey

A man wanted on a Domestic Battery misdemeanor was next, and at 5:06 p.m. Friday, Carmi police went to an address on the 600 block of Oak Street to serve it.

Bryan J. Stacey, 23, was taken into custody without incident and transported to the city/county jail, where he remained as of this afternoon on a $750 cash bond.

James Belka

Very shortly thereafter (at 5:41), Carmi Police were able to take two into custody at a residence on the 600 block of North Seventh Street.

Arrested on separate felony warrants were Christina Ballard, 35, and James Belka, 27.

Christina Ballard

Ballard was wanted on a felony Obstructing Justice warrant, Belka on an unspecified felony.

Both were taken into custody without incident and Ballard was able to post $150 cash bond for her release, while Belka remained incarcerated as of this afternoon.

Dalton Miller

On Saturday, June 9, Dalton Anthony Miller, 22, of Grayville, turned himself in around 2 p.m. on a White County warrant for Criminal Damage to Property.

He was able to post $150 cash bond to secure his release.

And then lastly, a woman from Ridgway in neighboring Gallatin County was arrested following a traffic stop last night, Sunday, June 10.

Monica Swaggirt

Monica L. Swaggirt, 36, was stopped at 7:36 p.m. last night and arrested for Driving on a Suspended License.

Authorities advise that Swaggirt was additionally charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance after three methylphenidate hydrochloride pills were found in her billfold upon a search of belongings.

Because those pills were a controlled substance and not in a pharmacy container, she was charged with a felony pertaining to them.
