JOHNSTON CITY, Ill. - A motorcycle collision last night in the Johnston City area of Williamson County sent one of the riders to an area hospital for staples to a head wound, but the other rider was not hurt.

Reports indicate that two motorcycles collided around midnight this morning, Wednesday, May 16, 2018.

At that time, two riders were traveling Route 37 north of Johnston City. One of the riders pulled over to the side of the road in the vicinity of the Ranch Bar because the other rider was quite a distance behind him and he wanted the guy to catch up.

Unfortunately, the second rider didn't see the first, and plowed into him. The second rider had to be airlifted to Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, where he received staples in a head wound. The first rider was not hospitalized.

There is no indication that the two had been drinking, and there were no citations issued.

When we learn more, such as the identities of the riders, we'll update this post. Be watching.
