CARMI, Ill. – A young Harrisburg man wanted on warrants out of Saline County was the subject of a call to a location on the 400 block of Oak Street in Carmi late Thursday, said city police officials.

City police said that Dakota C. Arthur, 25, of West Sloan Street in Harrisburg, was located hiding in the basement of a residence on Oak Street at 10:39 p.m. Thursday, May 10, according to official reports.

Arthur was wanted for Failure to Appear in cases involving two counts of Aggravated Battery and a count of Attempted Robbery in Saline.

Carmi officials opted to send in their K9, Orest, to the location on Oak Street when the report came in that Arthur was hiding in the basement of the building.

Carmi police informed Arthur that if he did not come out of the basement, “a police K9 would be used to locate him.”

Upon hearing Orest bark, said police reports, Arthur gave up and came out of the basement.

As of this morning, he is being held in the White County Jail in Carmi
