MARION CO., Ill. - A couple from Mississippi were taken to Salem Township Hospital, then cited, early this morning after their vehicle crashed...and a subsequent search found them to allegedly be in possession of cannabis.

Illinois State Police in District 12 said the accident occurred on Interstate 57 northbound, two miles south of Salem at 5:40 a.m. this morning, Monday, March 12.

Preliminary investigative details indicate that a silver 2004 Chrysler passenger car being driven by Antario J. Miller, 20, of Cleveland, Mississippi, was traveling north on I-57 at milepost 114 when it left the west side of the roadway entering the median.

Miller then overcorrected, entering the northbound lanes of traffic.

The Chrysler then left the west side of the roadway again, striking a guardrail, then crossed the northbound lanes of traffic, striking the side of a bridge and coming to a rest.

Miller and a passenger, Roshelle L. Forte, 20, of Greenville, Mississippi, were transported to Salem Township Hospital.

Miller was later charged with Improper Lane Usage, not wearing a seatbelt, Possession of Cannabis under 10 grams and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Forte was cited for not wearing her seatbelt and Possession of Cannabis Under 10 grams.
