MARION, Ill. - A young Marion guy has, after repeatedly getting in trouble, finally been sentenced to the Illinois Department of Corrections on a probation violation.

Williamson County State's Attorney Brandon Zanotti said that yesterday (January 10, 2018), Shai Schauf, 23, of Marion, admitted the allegations set forth in the State’s Petition to Revoke Probation, and was sentenced to four years in the Illinois Department of Corrections.

Schauf was on probation for a 2016 Unlawful Delivery of a Controlled Substance conviction, and violated that probation by testing positive for various drugs and for missing multiple probation appointments.

Schauf has been held in the Williamson County Jail since July 2017. He has a criminal history, including the underlying drug delivery case at issue, as well as a felony weapons conviction.
