ISP Districts report December activity and enforcement

ILLINOIS - The various State Police Districts around Illinois have released their year-end overall stats, and now it's time for the December 2017 stats.


Illinois State Police District 12 Commander, Captain Cory Ristvedt, has announced activity and enforcement figures for 2017. 

Troopers in District 12, which includes Clark, Clay, Crawford, Cumberland, Effingham, Fayette, Jasper, Lawrence, Marion, and Richland counties, answered 2,451 calls for service and initiated 19,587 incidents in the field during the year. 

In addition, enforcement figures totaled 9,425 citations and 10,346 
written warnings, including 4,483 speeding citations, 110 DUIs, 1,239 
seatbelt citations, 59 child restraint citations, 2,925 written warnings 
for speeding, and 459 criminal arrests. Troopers also assisted 2,485 
motorists, conducted 4,126 Motor Carrier Inspections, and investigated 886 traffic crashes. Of those crashes, 23 were fatal crashes. 

During the year, 6,303 citations and 3,817 written warnings were issued  for "Fatal Four" violations. These violations are most associated with fatal traffic crashes and include Speeding, DUI, Failure to Wear a Seatbelt, and Distracted Driving.


Illinois State Police District 19 Commander, Captain Cory Ristvedt, has announced activity and enforcement figures for the month of December.

Troopers in District 19, which includes Wabash, Edwards, Wayne, White, Hamilton, Saline, and Gallatin Counties, recorded 877 incidents during the month. Enforcement activity consisted of 368 citations and 561 written warnings, including 149 speeding citations, 5 DUIs, 53 occupant restraint citations, 5 criminal citations, and 197 written warnings for
speeding. Troopers also assisted 33 motorists, conducted 165 Motor Carrier Safety Inspections, and investigated 29 traffic crashes.
