HARRISBURG, Ill. - What's being called a drive-by shooting has occurred in Harrisburg after months of calm in town - as regards shootings, at any rate.

Officials have confirmed that a shooting took place, albeit not exactly where (as in what address). Unofficial sources claim it was in the vicinity of West South and South Jackson streets, a few blocks south of Poplar in what's considered the mid-town area.

We don't have a definite time on the incident; however, sources in that vicinity have said it occurred some time between 7:30 and 7:45 p.m. this evening, Monday, December 4.

No one was injured. We've just received word that there are NO suspects in custody at this time (10:15 p.m.); a male was picked up a few blocks north of the scene on an Unlawful Possession of a Weapon charge, but officials are telling us that's unrelated to this shooting.

The latest information we have is that Illinois State Police Crime Scene Investigators were on-scene shortly after the incident and have the situation under control.

When we learn more we'll post; please feel free to post what you know, here or at any of our social networking pages.
