CUMBERLAND CO., Ill. - Two juveniles - including a male driver, age 16, from Teutopolis - were transported to St. Anthony's Hospital in Effingham last night following a traffic incident that landed their vehicle in a creek.

Two other juveniles, names and ages not given, refused treatment at the scene of the accident, which occurred at 9:41 p.m. last night, Saturday, November 18, in rural Cumberland County.

Illinois State Police said that a gray 2007 Toyota Tundra being driven by the 16-year-old was eastbound on County Road 250N approaching the intersection of County Road 500E when he failed to stop at the stop sign at the intersection.

The Toyota went through the ditch on the east side of CR500E and traveled for approximately 250 feet before going off a creek embankment into the creek, coming to rest in the creek bed.

As mentioned, the driver and one passenger were transported to St. Anthony's for treatment; the other two refused treatment at the scene.

The juvenile driver was cited for Disobeying a Traffic Control Device, and violation of Graduated Driver's License's one-passenger limit.
