WABASH CO., Ill. - Two teens were arrested late last night (Monday, November 13) after a complaint of possible poaching in the area of Highway 11 and Friendsville Avenue came in at about 11 p.m.

It was at that time, reports Wabash County Sheriff Derek Morgan, that the Sheriff's Office received the complaint. A Chevrolet Lumina was reported to be driving around in a field, Morgan reported, looking to be chasing an animal and the complainant advised that a shot had been fired.

The vehicle was reported to have left the area southbound on Friendsville Ave. towards Mt. Carmel. It was located by the deputy on N 1550 Blvd. and Friendsville Ave., and a traffic stop was conducted.

The traffic stop resulted in the arrest of Zachary R. Morrell, 18, of Mt. Carmel, and a juvenile, no age or address given, with two weapons being recovered, along with ammunition.

Morrell was charged with Harassment of Wildlife and Unlawful Use of Weapons. The juvenile was charged with Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon and Harassment of Wildlife.

Morgan noted that the Sheriff's Office did not locate any injured wildlife at the time of the incident.
