JASPER CO., Ill. - A young woman from Olney is at a major hospital in Champaign after a car-deer accident this morning.

Illinois State Police said the incident that sent her car off the roadway and into a guy wire occurred at just before 6 a.m. this morning, Friday, November 10.

ISP said that Loretta L. Beck, 25, of Olney, was driving a gray 2008 Chevrolet Impala on County Road 300 N (known in the area as E 3o0th Ave) westbound approximately a half-mile west of Illinois Route 130, five miles south of Newton.

A deer ran out into the path of the Chevy and the car struck the animal, causing Beck to lose control and run off the left side of the roadway.

Beck's vehicle then struck an electric pole guy wire and a telephone pedestal.

Beck was injured and was transported to Carle Hospital in Champaign; there's been no indication of her condition at this time.
