Suspended Palestine driver charged with possession of synthetic drugs

PALESTINE, Ill. - The Palestine Police Department arrested a male subject as a result of a traffic stop Thursday night, October 19.

According to Palestine Police Chief Jeff Besing, Officer Brandon Carpenter initiated a vehicle stop on a white Chevrolet truck at Wilson and Market street at approximately 10:07 p.m. as Officer Carpenter knew the driver to be suspended.

Upon placing the driver into custody, the driver identified as Ray F. Patten, 44, of Palestine, was found to allegedly be in possession of a synthetic cannabis.

Patten was transported to the Crawford County Jail where he was charged with Driving while Suspended, Disorderly Conduct, Resisting a Peace Officer and Unlawful Possession of Synthetic Drugs.
