WILLIAMSON CO. (MARION), Ill. - A man whose documents show he's from Colorado Springs - but who has an extensive criminal history in Williamson County - had been charged in a bar stabbing happening last week.

Billy C. Gressett, 37, is the man in question; he was identified by not only the three stabbing victims, but other patrons of Heartland Sports Bar in Marion Friday, October 6.

The three victims are recovering from the incident.

Gressett, despite the Colorado home-base ID, has an Aggravated DUI in Williamson that's been pending since March of 2015. He's a convicted felon in Williamson, with a Class 3 Theft conviction dating back to 2008; and his obvious problems with alcohol have been underscored in not only Williamson (where he has previous DUI arrests), but also in neighboring Franklin County, where he got a felony DUI pled down to a misdemeanor in early 2014 after a 2012 arrest that dragged through court endlessly there.

Now, in Williamson, he might not escape so easily: He's formally charged with three Class 3 felony counts of Aggravated Battery Using a Deadly Weapon in the alleged stabbing of the sports bar patrons.

Gressett is scheduled for a November 6 prelim in Williamson County Circuit Court.
