FLORA: Lawmen contend with everything from loud exhaust to drug paraphernalia

FLORA, Ill.— Flora city lawmen have been involved in numerous incidences from September 4-10 including traffic citations and reports of drug paraphernalia, weapons and violence.

According to police chief John Nicholson, on Monday Sept. 4 at 1:58 a.m., Levi Henson, 19, of Xenia was issued a citation for Loud Exhaust, following a traffic stop in the 700 block of East North Avenue.

Also on Monday at 7:07 p.m., city police arrested Alan Ksiazkiewicz, 31, of Flora for domestic battery, two counts Aggravated Battery to a police officer, Resisting a Peace Officer and Aggravated Domestic Battery.

The arrest was the result of a domestic disturbance call in the 1000 block of South Mill Street.

Ksiazkiewicz was transported to Flora Police Department for booking procedures prior to being taken to Clay County Jail.

On Tuesday, Sept. 5 at 7 pm, Travis Hostettler, 30, of Flora was issued a citation for expired registration, following a traffic stop in the 300 block of North Mill Street.

Then on Wednesday, Sept. 6 at 11:16 a.m., city officers were dispatched to JB Hawks Discount Tobacco for a reported Domestic Battery.

Flora Police investigated the allegations and the case has been forwarded to Clay County State’s Attorney for review of charges.

Also on Wednesday, at 9:06 p.m., Russell Sullens, 25, of Flora was issued a citation for Expired Registration, following a traffic stop on North State Street.

On Friday, Sept. 8 at 11:35 a.m., Brody Roberts, 19, of Flora was arrested by Flora Police for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Unlawful Use of a Weapon, following an incident in the 600 block of South Mill Street.

Roberts underwent booking procedures at Flora Police Department and was released with a Notice to Appear.

And on Saturday, Sept. 9 at 11:10 p.m., Tanner Prater, 19, of Louisville, was issued a citation for No Valid Driver’s License, following a traffic stop in the 600 block of East North Avenue.

And finally on Sunday, Sept. 10 at 1:20 p.m., a 16 year old female, of Flora, was issued a citation for Graduated Driver’s License holder under 18 – more than one passenger under 20 years of age, following a traffic stop in the 100 block of North Olive.
