Plan on givin’ em something cry about

Posted by on Monday, August 21st, 2017 @ 8:05 pm.

Most of us around my age, or so, have heard the old saying that the squeaky wheel gets the oil… or grease or… whatever the heck it is that makes it stop squeaking.

I don’t know if having grown up with that old saying makes us old or wise or what.

Maybe neither.

And it seems like the older I get the more I recognize how different I am from everybody else, especially the younger generation.

Not ALL of them, but those for whom the shoe fits…

Now, I am not talking about being an ‘individual.’

All of us should strive, within reason, to be our own person.

You know, one who matures, taking responsibilities for their bad decisions as well as those that have propelled us or where we are and made us what we are today.

And make no mistake about it, the bad decisions have made us who we are today as well.

But there far too many young people who don’t even want to get in the same zip code as a thought as far out there as “being responsible.”

And those are the very people who inevitably end up making the same mistake and/or bad decision(s).

Some of us learn the second time around, while others never learn and continue to make the exact same mistake, over and over and over, their entire life.

Those are the folks who run around crying their little eyes out, blaming everybody else for their problems.

And for people like me, that gets under our skin to no end.

It’s kind of like the song The Eagles sing where they say “I’d like to find their inner child and kicks its little…” well, you know.

You know, that song about “your momma’s too thin and your daddy’s too fat…”

Our younger crowd (and you know who you are) and many in our older crowd (and you, also, know who you are) would do well to learn the punch-line from that song, “Get Over It!”

For years I have been saying our society has been, for decades, having offspring, spawn, known to some as children, who want everything handed to them.

They want a paycheck but do not want to work.

They want freedom, but want to take yours.

They want to force you to say you accept their _________________ (fill in the blank) or else you are the enemy, a fascist, Nazi, bigot, homophobe, ________________ (fill in the blank).

If you have more than one car, they feel you owe them one of yours, and if you are living comfortably, well… you are just pure evil.

I regret to say that I have lived long enough to see that I was not only right but that the ‘Gimme Crowd’ has made their way to voting age and have learned just enough math to realize they outnumber those of us who had careers at the age of 18, fought and bled for their ‘freedoms,’ and worked two to three jobs at their age to get there.

They are coming of age right before our very eyes.

And it’s UUUuuuuG-Leeeeeee!

All you have to do is turn on your television or hit your favorite link on Google and watch the news as these little vermin display their latest evolution from asking and crying to get their way to violently protesting, throwing urine and feces at police officers to get their way.

And that’s not even scratching the surface of those who would shoot a cop just because he is wearing a badge.

If they’d shoot a police officer, do you really think they’d think twice about shooting anybody else they disagree with?

These are the educated anarchist idiots who are now deciding that if they can’t force you to take down a statue they don’t even know the history of, then they will wait until the sun goes down and they will tear it down just like the Nazis of old, the Taliban of yesterday and the ISIS of today.

They act just like the very groups they say they despise and then turn around and tell you and the rest of us that’s what YOU are.

I read George Orwell’s 1984 many years ago and understood the premise.

But I thought either the world wouldn’t last long enough for me to see it or I wouldn’t actually have to live through it.

I mean right down to the double-speak where everything is the reverse of what it actually is.

It’s like Opposite Day in the SpongeBob Squarepants cartoon but as with most things in cartoons, they are not funny when you have to live it in real life.

Double-speak is practiced by those who need to make themselves feel good about the wrong they know they are doing.

And, now that I think about it, that’s pretty much why they do everything else in their lives and that is to make themselves FEEL GOOD.

I have no idea where this trend of tearing down what we don’t like is going to go.

Given the gift, or curse, of being right about bad things that I have carried with me all my life, I am willing to say wherever it is going, it is nowhere good.

We won’t enjoy the trip and we will hate it when we get there.

We now have the equivalent of spoiled toddlers running over this country like an army of angry, blind and deaf ants intent on destroying something just because they are in the mood to destroy and to force their will on everybody else.

Not because they are REALLY intent on making meaningful change or governing, that would be too much like work.

They are doing it because… see if this sounds familiar… because they “want to.”

It is certain that a clash between their kind and my kind will not be kind.

It is also certain that it will be life-changing for everybody involved.

What is not certain is exactly how painful it will be, but as sure as the sun will rise and the moon will set, it will be painful.

Some might even say Biblical.

And so, if you are one of these violent idiots who believe you have the right to take what you believe you are owed from others, be very careful.

Some of us old folks are no longer in the mood to pacify your perverted wants and needs just so you will go away and leave us alone.

We have learned from that mistake.

The days of changing your diapers have long since passed.

Your crawling about on this planet like a swarm of angry bees that produce nothing but poison and hate will be met by resistance when you least expect it and from where you least expect it.

I truly believe that if you are one of these vermin, despite my opinion, God and Jesus truly love you.

But you have to understand, everybody else thinks you’re a jerk.

And in parting, I encourage everyone who runs into one of these little snot-dripping idiots that are whining about how they don’t have what you have, turn and run.

Screaming is optional.

But I will tell you that if I run into one of these bellyaching social mites, I fully intend to give them something to cry about.
