FAYETTE CO., Ill. - A driver was transported to Fayette County Hospital following an accident earlier today, Saturday, August 12.

Illinois State Police said that at 2:48 p.m. today, two vehicles - a 2015 GMC pickup being driven by Charles Moritz, 65, of Neoga, and a 2014 Chevrolet pickup being driven by Caleb Price, 30, of Pana, were in the eastbound lane of Interstate 70 at milepost 62.

Price's pickup was in the left lane passing the GMC pickup. Moritz' Chevy then came over the center line and struck Price's pickup. Both vehicles traveled into the median, with Moritz' pickup veering back across the roadway, where it struck a guardrail. It ended up high-centered on a bridge wall.

Moritz was transported to Fayette County Hospital with unspecified injuries; he was later cited for Improper Lane Use.
