WILLIAMSON CO., Ill. - The wife of a man charged with multiple counts of child sex assault has now herself been charged with a related count.

The man is Brian Minton, 44, most recently from Marion, who was charged back in May with five Class X felony counts of Predatory Criminal Sexual Assault of a Victim under the age of 13. You can read about the charges at this link.

Now, his wife Krystle D. Minton, 32, listing an address of Johnston City, has been charged in connection with the allegations of these crimes against her own daughter.

The Missus Minton was charged on July 3 with a single count of Permitting the Sexual Abuse of a Child, a Class 1 felony, connected with the May 13 incident wherein the Mr. Minton was allegedly found with his hand way too close to his 9-year-old stepdaughter's unclothed private parts.

Apparently authorities believe they will be successful in getting Mrs. Minton to roll on her husband: After she sat in the county lockup for a few days, she was released on a $100,000 recognizance bond (meaning she didn't have to post any money - which under the circumstances would be $10,000 cash - as long as she shows up for all court appearances and doesn't get into any other kind of trouble.) Whether the authorities are going to take that avenue or not remains to be seen, but it's a strong possibility...especially given that Mrs. Minton filed for divorce on July 12.

Interestingly, we've received information indicating that three years ago - before she married Minton - Krystle was hooked up with a guy by the name of Aden K. Hargett, 31. In 2014, when she was seeing him, Hargett was charged with Class 1 felony Criminal Sexual Assault, which was late last year pled down to Criminal Sexual Abuse of a Victim that can't consent (a very young child) and he was issued a probation sentence. Our sources are indicating that this child is the same victim in the Minton case.

Further, in 2007 Minton himself was charged was charged with two Class X felony Predatory Criminal Sexual Assault counts, one Predatory Criminal Sexual Assault of a Victim under the age of 13 Class X felony, and one Class 2 felony Aggravated Criminal Sexual Abuse of a family member under the age of 18.

Those charges were ultimately all DISMISSED in July of 2014.

Mrs. Minton, out on the OR bond, is set to be back in court this week, July 20, then for a prelim on the cause August 7. Mr. Minton was in court this past week, July 10, and there's been no upcoming date set - yet.
