MARION, Ill. - No injuries were reported last night at the scene of a wreck on a convenience store parking lot that involved a police cruiser.

The whole thing went down at approximately 10:45 p.m. last night (Friday, July 14), when a passenger vehicle was hit by a semi at the intersection of Carbon Street and Illinois Route 13 in Marion.

The semi had pulled over, so it wouldn't be in the way of responding officers, who had been called.

According to a witness at the scene, once police arrived the and the semi was moving his vehicle into the Circle K parking lot, he accidentally backed into the police cruiser, causing minor damage.

The Williamson County Sheriff's department was called to the scene, as was Marion Police Chief Dawn Tondini.

Fortunately no one was injured and and the driver of the semi was ticketed and sent on his way.
