CARMI, Ill. - An Eldorado man is facing felony charges after an alleged domestic battery that involved a TASER yesterday in Carmi.

Authorities said that Paul M. Seagraves, 40, of Trolley Road in Eldorado, was at an apartment in the 200 block of Stevans Street in Carmi yesterday (Wednesday, July 5) when, at about 2:20 p.m., he is said to have busted out the window of a white four-door Ford Taurus. This was allegedly in an effort to get to one Ashley R. Highwood, 32, of the apartment mentioned.

He's then said to have hit Highwood - who was apparently inside the vehicle - in the arm with a TASER.

Seagraves, who's a felon in Saline County dating back to 2005 (at the latest), had no business being in possession of a TASER of any sort, so he was charged with Class 3 felony Felon in Possession of a Weapon, as well as Class 4 felony Domestic Battery and misdemeanor Criminal Damage to Property.

He was taken into custody and remains jailed in White County, having made a court appearance this morning, and bond set at $3,500.
