Eldorado driver suffers medical issue in White County, crashes car

WHITE CO, Ill. - A single-vehicle accident in Indian Creek Township is being attributed to a medical emergency the driver is reported to have experienced last night.

White County Sheriff's Office reported that the accident happened on U.S. 45 in Indian Creek Township about 250 feet north of County Road 300 North in White County last night (Thursday, June 15) at about 6:22 p.m.

Levi J. Church, 19, of Eldorado, was driving a 2006 Chevrolet southbound at that location when, he told authorities, he believed he blacked out while driving and lost control of his vehicle.

Church said when he came to, he realized he had exited the west side of the roadway and was approaching a "road curve ahead" sign.

Church stated he attempted to avoid hitting the sign but was unsuccessful.

Church refused medical treatment at the scene. The vehicle had to be removed from the scene, according to reports.
