LAWRENCEVILLE, Ill. - A strange situation emerged at about 5 p.m. this evening, as three cars were reported to be burning in the vicinity of the old skating rink on the south end of Lawrenceville.

Sources indicate that multiple reports were called in to dispatch about three cars on fire: A red truck, a black truck, and a white car....all at the same time.

Fire department crews reached the location quickly, but within about 30 minutes, a call went out for Illinois State Police Crime Scene Investigators to come to the scene.

In an interesting development, multiple family members were calling dispatch around that time, requesting to give ISP information about the burning vehicles.

When we learn more, we'll post. Be watching...and be sure to pick up this upcoming issue, on stands next Tuesday, as well as keep your subscriptions up-to-date; or click this link to get started on an online membership to the e-Edition.
