Babbs, Carwile, both sent off to IDOCPosted by Jack Howser on Saturday, March 18th, 2017 @ 6:07 pm.
RICHLAND/CRAWFORD/JASPER COs., Ill. - On an inquiry yesterday by a reader, we were asked to look into the status of the two who were nabbed back in December 2016 in a really high-profile event that spanned three counties: Richland, Crawford and Jasper.
Turns out, both Shane Babbs and Tabitha Carwile have entered pleas in their cases and Babbs, at least, is already in prison, with Carwile having only just entered her plea Thursday.
Babbs, 30 and most recently of Oblong, entered a plea in his Richland County case (which is where the mess started December 11, 2016) of guilty to Residential Burglary, a Class 1 felony, on February 14 of this year. In Richland, he was sentenced to 7 years DOC and costs in the amount of $583.75, none of which has been paid.
In Jasper County, Babbs' Burglary charge there, a Class 2 felony, remains open. He's set for a hearing on it, however, on April 4.
Carwile, 28, also most recently of Oblong, entered her plea in Richland County Thursday, March 16, to her charge of Residential Burglary, a Class 1 felony. She received a sentence of 6 years DOC and must pay $488.75 in costs, none of which has been paid.
Her Jasper County Class 2 felony Burglary charge hasn't even been dealt with by Jasper County officials. She remains held at the Richland County Detention Center pending transfer to DOC, held on the cash bond in the Jasper case for good measure: $5,000.
