FT. MYERS, Fla. - While we were reading up on the latest club shooting to take place in Florida, as it turns out, a couple of our correspondents were down there on vacation and went to get some pics for us this morning.

The nightclub was hosting a "teen event" last night (Sunday, July 24) with children as young as age 12; however, it was a "no ID required" party, whatever that means (the party had specified that ages 12 to 17 were the ages being hosted).

The shooting took place shortly after midnight when the party was shutting down and parents were picking up their kids.

Two males were killed: Ste'fan Strawder, 18; and Sean Archilles, 14.

There were 16 other victims between the ages of 12 and 27. The place had been advertising that they had "armed security" and there were adults all over, ensuring the party was staying low-key.

There have been three people detained as of this morning, but it's not clear whether there are actually any suspects or persons of interest.

The incident isn't being called an act of "terrorism." There's no indication of why it's not; possibly because there's no one taking credit for it and so there's no ethnicity or belief system opposing ours that the authorities can pin it on.

Here are the photos our correspondents got this morning.

Do you think it's safe these days to let kids attend such an event as this, especially in major metropolitan areas like Ft. Myers? How about here in rural southern Illinois? Could it happen here? If so, under what circumstances?
