THROUGH WEDNESDAY MORNING...

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN PADUCAH HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WATCH FOR PORTIONS OF SOUTHERN ILLINOIS...SOUTHWEST
  INDIANA AND WESTERN KENTUCKY...GENERALLY EAST OF A LINE
  EXTENDING FROM NEAR FAIRFIELD ILLINOIS TO THE LAND BETWEEN THE
  LAKES REGION IN WESTERN KENTUCKY

* FROM 10 AM CDT THIS MORNING THROUGH WEDNESDAY MORNING

* MULTIPLE ROUNDS OF STRONG TO SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS CONTAINING
  TORRENTIAL DOWNPOURS WILL BE POSSIBLE DURING THE NEXT COUPLE OF
  DAYS. RAINFALL RATES COULD SURPASS 2 INCHES AN HOUR IN THE
  STRONGER STORMS. THIS COULD LEAD TO FLASH FLOODING ACROSS
  PORTIONS OF THE WATCH AREA.

* VISIBILITIES IN VERY HEAVY DOWNPOURS WILL BE REDUCED TO LESS
  THAN AN EIGHTH OF A MILE. IF DRIVING...BE PREPARED FOR RAPIDLY
  REDUCED VISIBILITY AND RAPID PONDING OF WATER ON ROAD SURFACES.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A FLASH FLOOD WATCH MEANS THAT CONDITIONS MAY DEVELOP THAT LEAD
TO FLASH FLOODING. FLASH FLOODING IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION.

YOU SHOULD MONITOR LATER FORECASTS AND BE PREPARED TO TAKE ACTION
SHOULD FLASH FLOOD WARNINGS BE ISSUED.

MULTIPLE CHANCES FOR SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS EXISTS DURING THIS
PERIOD...GENERALLY IN AREAS ALONG AND SOUTHEAST OF THE MISSISSIPPI
RIVER. WHERE STORMS DEVELOP...DAMAGING WINDS...LARGE HAIL AND
POSSIBLY A TORNADO WILL BE THE PRIMARY HAZARDS...ALONG WITH
TORRENTIAL DOWNPOURS.

A FLASH FLOOD WATCH IS IN EFFECT FOR AREAS EAST OF A LINE
EXTENDING FROM FAIRFIELD ILLINOIS TO THE LAND BETWEEN THE LAKES
REGION OF WESTERN KENTUCKY.

A HEAT ADVISORY IS IN EFFECT FROM NOON TIL 6 PM FOR AREAS WEST OF
A LINE EXTENDING FROM NEAR MOUNT VERNON ILLINOIS TO MURRAY
KENTUCKY. HEAT INDICES MAY TOP 105 DEGREES.

AND DAMAGING WIND GUST WOULD BE THE PRIMARY HAZARDS.
