EDWARDS CO., Ill.---Friends and family of a well-known Bone Gap man are mourning his death today after a plane crash yesterday evening (Saturday, March 28).

Kris Case, 36, was operating an ultralight aircraft for the first time yesterday when, for reasons unknown at this time, the plane went down in a cornfield not far from his home, this at about 7 p.m.

Witnesses are telling authorities that Case made a couple of circles around the lift-off area before the plane went into a dive and crashed.

Coroner Mark Curtis pronounced Case dead at the scene.
