CRAWFORD CO.—An arrest has been made in the beating of a 20-year-old Oblong woman.

Official sources say they have arrested Jody R. Stifle, 35, of Oblong and charged him with at least one count of Aggravated Battery for playing a part in the beating of Harley Walters Johnson.

Stifle’s two daughters Brianna, 14, and Chelsea, 15. have also been linked to the beating that took place Friday night, September 7.

Sources indicate that Johnson reportedly told one of the girl’s boyfriend’s she had been cheating on him and she went and got her sister and father.

The sister allegedly began beating Johnson, and when she was unconscious the father, Jody, kicked her in the head.

The younger sister has been rumored to have videotaped the entire beating.

When police arrived at approximately 11:30 p.m. they found Johnson seizing in the roadway.

She was taken to Carle Clinic for treatment.

Late tonight, Saturday, Sept. 8, authorities took Mr. Stifle into custody at which time he began having breathing difficulties and medical personnel were called to the scene.
