On May 30, the so-called Illinois “DREAM Act” (SB-2185) passed the Illinois legislature and it was signed into law by Governor Pat Quinn on August 1st. Ostensibly, the bill creates a private college scholarship fund available to children of immigrants.
Over the past decade, Illinois legislators have borrowed and spent our state into the ground, and now they seem determined to tax it into the ground as well. As we noted on our Facebook page yesterday, Quinn got rid of Illinois’ death penalty, once and for all (or at least until someone with sense comes along).

This week, it’s the big bad word for parents of school age children (those who really care, anyway): CONSOLIDATION.
This should disturb we the people of Illinois greatly.
