A house fire that prompted some serious recrimination about Elizabethtown’s fire department has flared back up again this afternoon following an early-morning blaze at about 3 a.m.

ISP SWAT RESPONDS TO ARMED, BARRICADED HOSTAGE TAKER IN HARDIN COUNTY

ISP officials and the Hardin County Sheriff’s Office are investigating a barricaded hostage situation that occurred on Sunday, February 15, 2015, in rural Hardin County involving the Illinois State Police and an armed hostage taker.

SITUATIONS IN HARDIN COUNTY HAD ALL AUTHORITIES ACTIVE THIS EVENING

With a field fire being battled in the Karber’s Ridge area about an hour ago (8 p.m.), Hardin County authorities also have had to deal with staging for a hostage situation, this according to sources on the ground at the scene, right about at the same time in an incident that had been ongoing since mid-afternoon today, (about 2:30 p.m.)
