An incident with what turned out to be a stolen vehicle last night ended with a car crash and a man fleeing on foot; and so far, it looks like he has managed to get away.
Authorities spent the night and into this morning, Tuesday, August 28, searching for Jacob Wheeler, 22, of Carmi, after his friend and camping companion, Jessica M. Evans, 17, was found in the bed of his pickup covered in tree limbs, dead with at least one gunshot wound to the head.
