On Monday March 15 at 5:30 pm the City Council is holding a public meeting for the Marion Hub TIF district. This will be very interesting, we will see at this meeting if Mr.Osman gives any input as to any information regarding this TIF. If he does, it will be illegal for him to do so as stated in the Illinois (65 ILCS 110/65)Sec. 65. Conflicts of interest; disclosure.
Mr.Osman owns a Law office that is in that very TIF, that TIF has been on the Marion TIF map since September 2008, it is listed as the "HUB TIF District (PENDING). In this Hub TIF there are about 400 homes with in it, why are homes added to this TIF, why are these older business's added with in this TIF, where is all of the TIF money going to go. I have one question, why is Mr.Osmans office with in this TIF, its not a building that needs to be. Is Mr.Osman going to develope that property further or is he just going to get that money kicked back in his poskets, he is one of Mr.Butlers buddies, is that why it is ?
　
There are a lot of questions that the people of Marion should be asking, we need to know the facts and the TRUTH about this. Some business’s in the new TIF as I have said before will be , CVS, Fred Meyers(new), IGA, Macks lot,Pizza Hut, All historic homes west side of South Market, CIPS, Osmans Law office, the old hospital , the Marion square area and many more.
What should make everyone think about these TIF's used is that the school system will not get the taxes they should be getting, they will lose money again. There is a difference in collecting real estate taxes compared to taxes from a TIF, the City will make it sound like they dont lose money but thats not true. Its just like the City didnt pay the school any money from the TIF's in place now for 23 years, they lost millions because they didnt know all they had to do was ask for the money…..another JOKE. This is another reason we should ask our selves WHY should we trust Mr.Butler or the Council members in doing what is RIGHT for us or the school system, there is no concerns for our kids and their futures, that is proof of that instance.
We have to ask QUESTIONS and dig and find out the TRUTH, why so many TIF's, where is all of the TIF money going, is all of the TIF's legal and are these TIF's formed and put in place legally, we need to know !
