Another 32-pager out the door!! With UPDATE 6:30 p.m.

Not quite like birthing a porcupine backwards, as the last one was, but it had its moments. Most of them had to do with the Wayne County board. Because there were so many peripheral things around the meeting than just the 30 minutes to the meeting, the hour and a half for the meeting, and the 30 minutes driving back…after which we were so damned tired that we couldn’t even think in order to put anything together on it other than a facebook post.
There seemed to be a theme going on this month, and it seemed to do with former or current
A) coaches/teachers
B) coaches/teachers dealing/sniffing drugs and/or
C) coaches/teachers dealing with/sniffing after underage girls.
Not all of these were in south counties. We have one in Richland. Oh my. We thank all the public officials involved in this who have been very forthcoming with information about it. It’s about ten times worse than what we posted here on the website.
But there’s never a dearth of stories coming out of south counties. As long as Raymond Martin keeps taking in air, we’ve got something for Gallatin to read, and as long as cocaine continues to be dealt in Saline, we’ve got something for them to read.
Of course there are other interesting stories beside coaches/teachers, potential pedophilia, dope and the like: we have bad public officials, repeat criminals who can’t seem to learn any better, and, well…pretty much everything falls into one of those two categories.
Just as updates: We now have 43 vendors. We will endeavor to get everything delivered in two days, but it’s imperative that we get the subs out tomorrow (Monday) so our latest subscribers—and those who have had problems with the mail—get what they pay for. So it might be Wednesday before we get them all out. As usual, we’ll figure out the routes as we go. Depends on what time the print shop gets done, and how long the subs take. No meetings tomorrow night that we’re aware of.
We are still working on web design and updates. Sorry everything grinds to a screeching halt for about two weeks out of the month. We’ll get there…including new features and a new poll. We’re still trying to decide whether to go back to the black background. You have spoken; we are listening. We just have to work it.
We’ll have more in a bit, and this month’s print headlines tomorrow, probably late morning or around noon…check back!
Update 6:30 p.m.
APOLOGIES TO SOME SUBSCRIBERS!
We feel like clods.
Dirt clods to be exact.
Because as we were taking the labeled and bundled subs out to the car, two of them fell. Into the mud.
We tried to clean them up as best we could, but there are some edges that may look a little…muddy.
So we apologize if there are some subscribers who get a paper where the outer fold looks poopy. It’s not poop, it’s good ol Illinois dirt. But we wanted you to get your subscriptions on time, so they had to go out TODAY, and we couldn’t take time to pick out the ones that were muddy on the edges and reprint labels, then replace the paper.
WE FEEL BAD!!!!! :/
We’ll try to do better next month…maybe it’ll be a little drier.
At least we didn’t spill coffee on them…

How many papers do you deliver to each vendor?
?????
Am I going to get a answer, Admin? haha
I’m still waiting on this months headlines. Maybe if there all down south I can spend the $2.00 on lottery tickets this month.
Sorry Dr. Pawn. We’ve been in and out of the Jeep delivering. The answer is it varies depending on how many papers each vendor sells. We still have a handful of vendors who have limited traffic who only take in 10 or 15 papers, and then we have a number of vendors that sell 100 or more. We have a handful of vendors that sell hundreds every month, and one vendor that’s verging on 1,000 per month. So it’s varied…but we love our vendors no matter how many they sell, because they have the backbone and the belief in what the First Amendment is all about to actually do it for us. VENDORS, YOU (AND OUR ADVERTISERS) ARE THE BEST!!!
Hang in there Rastous. We just delivered to Bottle Hut. We’ll get those headlines up for ya, it’s kinda hard to read them in the dark and transfer em to the web page, but we’re working on it!!!
How many does Stanley’s BBQ, your Harrisburg vendor, sell a month?
Also, do you deliver more papers if a vendor does sell out?
Stanley’s sells quite a few. I don’t know if he wants us to give the exact numbers; we’ll ask. And yes, when a vendor sells out, if it’s still in the first three weeks of the cycle, we’ll take papers to them if we still have any. The last couple of months we’ve placed them all so we haven’t had any extra to take to anyone. We usually don’t take refills out during writing week, which is the last week in the cycle anyway so a lot of times everyone’s sold out by then or down to only a few. Sometimes if we don’t have any on hand ourselves, we’ll go around to vendors that are selling slow, and reduce their take and move those over to a vendor where it’s selling fast. Sometimes if it’s just a big sweep and they’re all gone in the first week, we’ll do a reprint like we did last October (but that gets expensive). Sometimes it’s a crap shoot, sometimes it’s more like a science, but most of the time we have to take our best guess as to how many each vendor will move depending on what the big stories are, and plan distribution accordingly. We want each vendor to have as many papers as they believe they can sell.
I was just curious to know how many he sold. Ask if you don’t mind…
We shall.
Are you interested in becoming a vendor?
Possibly, how much do you charge your vendors for each copy?
$1.75. Vendors get a quarter per each issue they sell. That can be quite lucrative each month if you have high traffic.
You said your highest traffic vendors only sell one thousand, right? So that’s only $250 for a month. If I received around 75 cents or a dollar a issue I would….
50 cents to a dollar…..
That’s the deal, Dr. Pawn. We had a distributor that tried that a few years back and we gave her 50 cents because she was driving so much and we couldn’t pay her, but we could offset it. She was verging on ripping us off so we ended the arrangement. Sorry. Most of our vendors are tickled with the additional income.
How much a copy does it take for you to print them?
Lots.
I bet..haha Figured you would not “disclose” that information!!
U figured right…
quarter? I would say closer to 10 cents…..
Hell, I would even go under!
I’m not even going to ask you your point. I am going to tell you that after a week of intensive writing, two days of delivery and now a third pending because we had a miscount, the pregnant child is still pregnant and one of our outside cats is now an amputee thanks to a garage door incident, I’m NOT in a very good humor which means YOU’RE still on your probationary period and I’M cognizant of this.
Sorry, I was just messing with you to see how much you profit off this paper. Breathe…….haha
Harder to do these days…got a lot going on. We breathe when we can.
how can a person contact disclosure about a story?
disclosurenewsonline@yahoo.com
or 618-446-5390, office, leave a message and we’ll get back with you asap.
Stanley’s has 700 copies at the moment. That is one of your top sellers then, huh?
Dr. Pawn.
WHY are you doing this?
You sound like an op.
You are going back in the spam folder if you don’t stop and I do mean it this time. I don’t have time for your shit.
