This week and next are going to be busy ones for the Disclosure staff, but here are some of the stories we’re going to be bringing you in the print version as well as a preview of what we’re working on for online.

From Scott Way's Facebook

It’s been reported to us that Scott Way has bonded out. We’ll be pulling that file soon in the Saline County courthouse to verify, and see what his terms of release are as well as what’s going to happen to him next. The former Hardin County teacher and coach is still on probation from his 2007 dope bust in Saline, so we’ll see what having a petition to revoke probation (PTR) gets you in Saline under the Henshaw admin.

Speaking of which, Henshaw’s office is under the gun again for not paying attention to reports of Paul McSparin allegedly violating the order of protection he’s under.

Paul McSparin. Taken by buds, of course.

We’ll be pulling files from all over about McFreak for this one, as he is continuously emailing us telling us he’s never been convicted of misdemeanor battery. He has, in at least two counties. We might even be able to find more. Whatever the case, we intend to get answers. We’ll keep you updated on it.

And of course there’s McSparin’s little buddy David Cox. We finally got to view the files the other day and Coxie’s attorney, Greg Stewart of Carmi, hasn’t filed suit against Coxie for nonpayment…but it sure looks suspicious. Stewie has filed to be removed from at least one of Coxie’s cases; why, we haven’t ascertained. If Coxie’s payment history with other businesses is any indication, however, there’s pretty good info to hint at the ‘why.’ We’ll have that full story in the March print version.

Steve Vinyard from a 1970's yearbook

The ongoing issue with former Gallatin schools coach Steve Vinyard will of course be covered. The argument with people claiming to be family here on the site is heating up. It’s questionable as to whether the truth in the case will ever come out…but there are those out there who know, and we encourage them to contact us with any information they might be inclined to present. We will of course keep you confidential as a source…but you must tell us who you are and how you know, and documentation is a plus. Contact information is at the about us link at the top of the page.

There’s an interesting story emerging from White County about a local guy posing for pictures, dressed in someone else’s clothes and holding what appears to be meth. This could all be something set up for us to write about and make us look foolish in the process…or it could be exactly what the source is saying it is, in which case there’s really something strange going on in the county and in the city of Carmi. We’ll get to the bottom of it, regardless.

A couple of Clay County stories are developing, one about some inappropriate conduct going on in a big retailer in Flora, another regarding a certain public official and possible misuse of funds. After a few phone calls, we’ll know if we’re able to pin these down; check the print version but don’t give up if we don’t have it; we’ll get it for the April paper if nothing else (sometimes these things take weeks to develop).

Police brutality is the norm in Lawrence County but some of the stuff happening of late is beyond the pale. Hopefully we’ll be securing some interviews with some victims, one of which is that of a bizarre alleged crime happening to an elderly man. It just goes on and on in Lawrence.

And of course there’s the huge brouhah in Wayne with the sheriff coming under fire over stuff that was just fine for his predecessor to do…We’re of the opinion that certain members of the Wayne County board either have something to hide…or Alzheimer’s is setting in.

More as we’re able…on to the next destination…keep checking back.

  1. admin says:

    I CAN’T WAIT!! :-)
And thanks…we appreciate the help. Hope we get it in the mail tomorrow…

  2. Pablo says:

(Name deleted by admin) IS the supplier. I advise you look into it. He is taking care of Way because he didnt mention his name the entire time he was in jail…..

  3. Dr Pawn says:

    Skylar lives in Carbodale…..

  4. Dr Pawn says:

Why didn’t you post about him being the supplier? It is a FACT…and I can guaruntee you that, Admin.

  5. OldDog says:

Why you guys narcin’ out Skylar right here in front of everybody. He’s not ashamed of his lifestyle and the police here know it. He would have no problem walking in with the cash and telling the cops he has more where that came from. I’ve seen him do it. They would then tell him to keep it in Carbondale and everyone would have a good laugh. That’s how he rolls. Sounds like he just bailed out a good buddy to me. I’m all for justice here but Skylar is not charged with anything is he?

  6. Katie Simms says:

Old Dog: How is Skylar….have seen that kid in years….Knew him when he was a little fella….

  7. admin says:

We don’t even know who this kid is. And his name didn’t appear on any documents; it only came in the form of tips, when we were in Saline courthouse last week, that he had put up the bond. When we got there it wasn’t his name, so it didn’t even go into the story. However, if there’s something behind this…like a more interesting story…feel free to let us know. Just don’t post anything here online that could be libelous (making statements that can’t be proven)…send it to us in a pm, please, until we know what’s up with this kid.

  8. Simon Phoenix says:

You can’t be held accountable for posts that people make on your site. Look it up, it is some internet act…

  9. admin says:

That’s true…but we don’t want to give the people you’re talking about a heads-up that we know what we know.

We’re already getting phone calls about some of this shit.

  10. Simon Phoenix says:

    Got ya…

  11. Simon Phoenix says:

Old dog, I believe that you are the one that “narced” on skylar in your post? Nobody said anything about Skylar being the supplier before that…read the posts…

  12. OldDog says:

Katie. I don’t know Skylar. I was in a situation where I saw his behavior first hand. I would assume he is doing well since he laughed about the amount of money it was going to take to bail him out of jail. He said “I have twice that much in my front pocket.” He seems like a very secure, fearless, confident, happy- go-lucky guy to me. I only commented on him because I feel like everyone deserves the opportunity to get caught on their own. I really don’t want to see this become a place where people go to “tell on” everyone they read about.

  13. OldDog says:

Hey Simon, I did read the post and one says: Why didn’t you post about him being the supplier? It is a FACT…and I can guaruntee you that, Admin. Is that not considered “narcing”? If they were talking about someone else, I offer my sincere apologies to Skylar. BTW I didn’t say anything other than mention something I once witnessed. If he didn’t want me to hear it, he wouldn’t have said it.

  14. admin says:

Mmm…okay…we’re just trying to be careful. We respect you, OldDog, but then we know who you are and you have earned our respect. If you say something to the effect you have, we know you’re not saying it loosely. We don’t know who Simon is…so we’re playing it cautious. No offense, Simon. We’re just trying to be careful.

  15. im just saying says:

well…if GoMules thinks it’s soo good, then i can’t wait to hear about it either. Skylar H is an ex felon, so he wouldn’t be able to bond anyone out of jail. Skylar’s current/ex step dad is a Moss & i think Hodge is either related to the Mosses or a friend of Skylar’s mom? Hodge used to work for Anna Bixby in town..not sure about now.
p.s. Skylar is no relation to our SA Henshaw.

  16. im just saying says:

ok, i guess i need to apologize. the whole ‘newer comments’ throws me sometimes, so i posted my last post before i read everything on this page. and yes…the last time i saw skylar…he was very, very cocky. i’m still hoping what gomules has is good!

  17. admin says:

The stuff gomules sent today REALLY enhanced the story. I was able to get it done before it was scheduled for placement, so it’s all good…it added probably another 800 words to the article. There is some stuff we’re holding as we’re looking to enhance whatever happens on the 23rd (26th? I can’t remember now…too late…too many words…) I wanted a pic of Callie Maynard but can’t ascertain which MySpace is hers as there are two and neither of them are in Illinois…but it may just be a totally different Callie. Who is in cosmetology. Which would be weird.

  18. Simon Phoenix says:

Callie Maynard works at Mirage salon and spa in Harrisburg…..

  19. admin says:

    Got a link, Simon? with a pic…?

  20. Simon Phoenix says:

I may be able to arrange that. What’s your email?

  21. Simon Phoenix says:

    It would be tomorrow though….

  22. Errata says:

Why don’t you just speak to them on the record, Scott… I mean GoMules?

  23. GoMules says:

Get on Facebook. She has a page there It has a picture of her boyfriend and her son as the profile picture

  24. GoMules says:

Errata, I don’t like Way, but I did go to all his court dates.

  25. Simon Phoenix says:

Her son is by a man named Eli Nipper. Who has been in and out of prison his entire adult life.

  26. Simon Phoenix says:

She is a very good person though….

  27. admin says:

We’ve done some articles on Nipper; apparently he breeds freely. We understand that he was Jessika James’ father…which is another (completely unnecessarily) unresolved issue in Saline:

  28. Simon Phoenix says:

    Sure was…

  29. Simon Phoenix says:

That’s what happens when you have a crackhead mother… Callie on the other hand is a fantastic mother who has made some mistakes in the past, like most people have.

  30. admin says:

Yeah that’s what we hear about Jessika’s mom…too bad you can’t arrest someone for being a pathetic parent…

  31. 4 sure says:

I thought Scott Way wasn’t even supposed to be in bars? I have seen him in Carbonbale out all of the time. And he had posted that him and his girlfriend went to some big concert! If he doesnt have a job where is he getting all of this money from? makes me wonder if hes back in the game again.

  32. skeeter says:

i love it that rietta works for you guys but anyways skylar is related to judge henshaw they just dont speak and never will i just know one thing if you think scot is back in the game your wrong and the reason for his v.o.p. is bullshit you all may think you know but have no idea ya rietta thanks for being the disclosures number 1 snitch that dont know shit why you going to get copys of scot’s bond papers and handing them out to crackheads that they give a fuck ya warren tolley is just one of the names

  33. admin says:

Sorry moron…Rietta isn’t on the payroll. In fact we’re having a hard goddamned time finding stringers and we’d appreciate it if you wouldn’t remind us.

However, interesting that you would mention Warren Tolley, as there is a story coming up on him this month, came to us about three weeks before this particular incident occurred and was actually written before Way was even jailed. But I don’t remember his name being associated with the Way story at all. Seems like you know more than we do about that…care to share?

Do we care if he’s ‘back in the game’? Hell no. He’s back behind BARS pretty soon, so we give a damn.

And as far as Skylar…until he comes up on our radar, we have nothing to say about him. His name doesn’t appear in Way’s story, either.

Please don’t end your night getting all cracked out then posting on our website.

  34. Dr. Pawn says:

I have heard that the most Scott will spend in prison is two months. Does this sound right to you, Admin?

  35. admin says:

It used to be that in order for the state to consider it even being “worth it” to house an offender at all, they had to stay in DOC a total of 37 days or something like that…a month and a week was what we understood. That’s evolved over the years; at one point it was 90 days, etc. That was when all this “day for day” good time was going on. But just today we received communication that thanks to the “secret releases” last year, DOC is now no longer doing day-for-day. We haven’t confirmed that; perhaps one of our readers who’s with DOC or knows a lot about it could clarify.

The basic rule on petition to revoke, however, is that if the convicted person violates terms, the sentence they could have been facing had they not been put on probation is reinstated in full. I don’t recall what Way’s original sentencing possibilities were, but since he pled to only one of the many offenses, they can only impose sentence on that one, and only within those sentencing guidelines.

That said, two months sounds VERY minimal for what Way’s facing. If that’s what he gets, it will only be because someone is pulling strings. And these days, I wouldn’t think any judge would want that particular albatross hung around his/her neck.

  36. ryepaige says:

I agree with Skeeter. Everybody is innocent until proven guilty. I’ll tell you that. People need to quit running their mouth’s!! I’m gettin tired of this small town talk. When nobody knows shit. Unless you talk to a person to their face don’t post shit about them. To, old dog, go mules, dr pawn, pablo, 4 sure, i’m just sayin, whoever!! you guys have no business in it!! so mind ya own.. let everyone else handle their own business.. btw; april doesn’t talk to linnea as far as i know n what does that have to do with it?! & who cares about someone’s past. it doesn’t effect their future.. what does skylar’s current/ex “step dad” have to do with anything?? i could go on forever. people are just rediculous these days.

  37. admin says:

Are you talking about Lynnea Hodge?

  38. Dr. Pawn says:

You can call me out all you want. That doesn’t change the fact that what is posted on this page is the truth. Scott was guilty by the way, and will now be punished accordingly after having failed three drug tests. How dumb can you be? Stay clean and stay out of prison…it could have been that easy…

  39. GoMules says:

Dr. Pawn sound like one of the people who was going to testify against Way or is in his paperwork, or is one of the family members of someone who was going to testify against Way. Face it everybody knows peopled lied in his case and almost everybody did. Dr. Pawn is probably mad cause everybody knows who was going to testify against Scott. You say what is posted on here is the truth so the state let people change their stories in Way’s case, let cops lie on the stand, protected the Maynard’s, and let Callie Maynard lie to the cops. The state of Illinois is doing really well don’t you think?

  40. Dr. Pawn says:

I am in no way connected personally with anybody involved with Way’s case. gomules you sound as if you know Scott very well? If this is the case you cannot say that you believe he is innocent. It is common knowledge by his “circle” that he is guilty of what he has been accused of….or should be at least.
I am sure that those people close to Scott get on here and defend him anyway though. He was a drug dealer, and reportedly is still dealing drugs after bailing out of jail. Is this not the case?

  41. 4 sure says:

GoMules! Who are you trying to full Scott? You can’t post the same stuff on myspace, facebook, and now on here. Quit Lying to yourself, you sold drugs, you had a chance to move on with your life and you messed up once again. Grow up how old are you now? like 30?

  42. GoMules says:

I’m not Scott Way. I find it funny a couple people think i’m scott, like 3 people have said that. Also, I have seen Way’s myspace and facebook and the only think he ever had on there was pictures on the people of some of the people who told on him and their statements, which many people have read, seen ,and have copies of. I haven’t talked to Scott in several months, but I know he isn’t 30 either. For the fourth time I never said Way was innocent.I said his case had very interesting points that were hidden by the Daily Register. People are getting mad cause i have posted facts from the case that happened and were in his motion of discovery. Does anybody else think it was weird they never found a single drug in his possession? Again, I never said Way was innocent I grew up with Way like many other people in this town.

  43. GoMules says:

There is one way to prove I’m not Scott Way an this is if you have noticed I have only mentioned a couple people from Way’s case. Scott would of put everybody who told on him on here and their exact statements if he was posting. Admin would of put all these in the spam folder since they don’t want that. I don’t even know the names of the all the people who told on Scott. The stuff I sent in didn’t have all the witnesses in it cause I only had some of the paperwork. I do know there was 8 though. Can’t wait to see the paper!!!!!!!!

  44. Hating Saline Idiots!!! says:

Go Mules-You say you haven’t talked to Way in months. Yet on the Way article you say “Way spoke with a few people tonight and they confirmed that Semper Fi is Carson’S bitch ass. The people told Way that Carson was bragging about his statement above at the very top of this article.” Which is it? You’re very contradicting. Also, the vast amount of knowledge you have on him is more than I can say I know about anyone, including myself. I can’t tell you how old my spouse was when they had their first drink, yet you claim you know Way was 17. Either your fascination is similar to McFreak and Cox or you are in fact, Way.

  45. paul mcsparin says:

hating saline idiots….I am going to just try and gauge your education level..SO I am guessing not anything more than an A.A. or A.S. I love your American guranteed opinion. But again you are wrong and I will just leave it at that. I will give you that but you waste my time with ignorance.

  46. paul mcsparin says:

The picture in the back seat just pissed me off…What you guys have to understand is that these guys think all this shit is funny. And its not.

  47. Far From it all says:

Hey Paul you mis-spelled “guaranteed. Maybe another semester at SIC is in order? Just saying, before you go blasting education levels use the spell checker at least.

  48. Far From it all says:

What I find hilarious is that Scott Way has always wanted to be something he’s not. You people give him credence when you should be treating him like a common, forget it he failed three “SCHEDULED!!!” drug test as a moron. Do you guys fight the same way on here for every drug dealing low life? How does it speak to your character when you come on a public forum to defend a convicted felon? I know all the people involved in this case, and none of them have a leg to stand on when it comes to credibility, but none the less he was caught, the statements otherwise are moot. He was caught pled guilty and got off easy. Then, not to the surprise of anyone who knows him he screws up again. He has been handed every opportunity to go straight and has blown through faster than the coke on his plate. So no I don’t feel bad for him or think he got a bad rap, I pity him and think he deserves the book.

:p 8) =( :8 ;) :(( :o: :[ :) :D :-| :-[) :bloody:  :choler:  :oups: :aie: :beurk:
