DOCTOR’S JURY TRIAL ENDS IN MISTRIAL
WHITE CO.—We’re just now getting word that the Aggravated Criminal Sexual Assault trial of Dr. Jogendra Chhabra has ended in a hung jury—a mistrial.
This occurred today, Monday, February 25, 2013. The trial began last week, Feb. 19. The jury had the case for two full days before ending in a hung jury, meaning that they couldn’t arrive at a 100 percent verdict of guilty or not guilty in the three charges against the doctor, two of them felonies.
We’ll have more in the morning.
